Wheel
The universal shorthand for an electric unicycle. “My wheel.” “New wheel day.” “What wheel are you riding?” Nobody in the community says “my electric unicycle” in casual conversation.
Why not “unicycle”?
Because “unicycle” makes people picture a circus performer. “Wheel” is neutral, short, and doesn’t trigger a ten-minute conversation about what you actually ride. Some riders use “EUC” in text and “wheel” in speech.
The naming debate
The community has spent years trying to find a better public-facing name. Eucycle, monowheel, one-wheel, PEV - none have stuck. “Wheel” works internally. For outsiders, most riders just show them and skip the naming problem entirely.

Call it what you want. We call them wheels. The rest of the world will figure it out when they see one.
