EUC
Electric Unicycle. E for Electric, U for Uni, C for Cycle. Self-balancing, single-wheeled electric vehicle controlled by body lean. That’s it.
Pronunciation wars
Some say each letter: E-U-C. Some say “yuke” (rhymes with fluke). The forum community mostly rejected “yukes” - too close to “yikes” and “pukes” for comfort. Say it however you want. Nobody will correct you in person.
The terminology problem
“Electric unicycle” is technically accurate but socially awkward. It invites circus associations. “EUC” works in writing and among riders. For everyone else, most riders just say “wheel” or show the thing and let it speak for itself.
555 take
EUC is the standard written form. Wheel is the standard spoken form. Both are correct. Everything else is noise.
