Overlean
You leaned harder than the wheel could push back. The motor ran out of torque - not because it broke, but because you asked for more than physics allows in that moment.
This is not a cutout
A cutout is hardware failure. Overlean is rider error. The distinction matters because the fix is different: cutout means your wheel needs repair. Overlean means you need to ride differently.
When it happens
- High speed + sudden acceleration
- Low battery (less voltage = less available torque)
- Uphill at speed
- Hitting a bump while already demanding max torque
- Strong headwind at speed
How to avoid it
Don’t ride the beeps. Keep 20-30% power reserve at all times. On low battery, reduce speed proportionally. Respect tiltback - it’s your last warning.
