Side-mounted pads for transferring force through shins and calves - the biggest control upgrade you can make.

Power pads

Pads mounted on the sides of your wheel that give your shins and calves a contact surface. Without them, you control the wheel with foot and ankle pressure alone. With them, your entire lower leg becomes a control interface.

What they change

Push forward with your shin to accelerate. Press back with your calf to brake. Lean the wheel into corners with leg pressure instead of shifting your entire body weight. The locked-in feeling at speed is transformative.

Setup matters

Height is everything. Too low and you lose braking leverage. Too high and you can’t shift weight for turns. Start with the top of the pad at mid-shin and adjust based on your riding style.

555 take

Learn to ride without pads first. Understand the basics with your feet and ankles. Then add power pads and feel the difference. You’ll never go back. The power pads guide goes deeper into placement, pad shapes, and the difference between control support and trapping your legs.
