Jump pads
The jump-focused part of a pad setup that gives your shoe a surface to pull against when lifting the wheel off the ground. In normal EUC use this is usually the lower or forward section of power pads, not a separate mainstream accessory.
How they work
Regular power pads transfer force for acceleration, braking, and stability. A jump section adds a vertical component: your shoe loads against it and the wheel comes with you during hops, drops, and hard terrain hits.
Setup
Position matters because this sits close to the bail-out problem. Too tight and your foot cannot release cleanly. Too loose and it does not help. The foot straps and toe locks article covers where normal pad support ends and niche retention begins.
555 take
Jump sections are for riders who already understand power pads, spiked pedals, and off-road control. They are not the first upgrade. They are a refinement once your basic pad setup already works.
