When pedals tilt forward noticeably during turns - a firmware behavior that divides opinion.

Pedal dip

The pedals tilt forward when you turn. Not because you’re leaning wrong - because the firmware’s balance algorithm shifts the pedal angle during cornering. Some wheels do it aggressively, others barely at all.

Feature or bug?

Depends who you ask. Some riders see pedal dip as “turn assist” - the wheel anticipating the physics of a lean. Others find it disorienting, especially in tight switchbacks where the dip feels like a loss of control.

What affects it

Firmware version, riding mode (hard vs soft), speed, and turn radius all influence how much dip you feel. Hard mode typically reduces dip because the pedals resist angle changes more aggressively.

555 take

If pedal dip bothers you, try switching to a harder riding mode. If it doesn’t, don’t fix what isn’t broken. Know that it exists so it doesn’t surprise you in a tight corner at speed.
