Low battery beeps
A slower beep pattern - distinct from the rapid speed/load alarms - telling you the battery voltage has dropped to a level where available power is significantly reduced.
Why this is more dangerous than it sounds
Low battery doesn’t just mean less range. It means less voltage, which means less available torque, which means the speed that was safe at full charge is no longer safe. At 30% battery, the speed where overlean happens is substantially lower than at 100%.
The trap
You’ve been riding for two hours. The wheel feels the same. You’re doing the same speed as an hour ago. But the battery dropped from 60% to 25%. The safety margin that was comfortable is now razor thin. The low battery beeps are the wheel telling you: slow down proportionally.
555 take
When you hear low battery beeps, reduce speed immediately. Not by a little - by a lot. The relationship between battery level and safe speed isn’t linear. Below 30%, ride like a beginner. Below 15%, ride home slowly or call a ride.
